Moce Lautoka.

Bula Vinaka!
Holy eventful week.  My goodness I feel like so much has happened.
I'll start with a couple random fun facts. I got my haircut. In Fiji. And I cut off 3 inches. We ate BBQ Chicken for District lunch and I felt like I was in America. We had an awesome service with the Namatarua family folding clothes all morning. Ha. Sister Mataoa and I taught Young Women's yesterday on Covenants. I love Young Women's. We got a new adorable investigator and a few new potential investigators. I love when that happens.  :) It was a lovely week.
But we were also really sad to lose a big chunk of our area to the Elders. It's always really hard to say goodbye to investigators that you've gotten so close to. But we know they are in great hands. :)  We also mapped out the new section that was added to our area in the change and are excited to start proselyting there.

Also, shout out to my dear companion Sister Mataoa! Today is her one year mark in the mission. And so naturally we celebrated with crepes. Because she's Tahitian (French). I love her and it's been so fun to serve with her. She is a fabulous missionary and I've learned a ton and a half from her. I'm a lucky girl.
Crazy story of the week......... so Friday night our landlord told us the city would be shutting our area's water off for two days starting Saturday morning. Not fun. But we didn't want to be stranded without water like before, so despite our pathetic lack of decent sized containers, we did our very best to prepare. It was actually kind of ridiculous. Our entire kitchen counter was covered with containers of every size (from the tiny butter ones to huge mixing bowls) filled with water. We were so ready for this water shut off. Sunday morning came and we made sure everything was clean and washed out.  But then.......no water shut off. Not that we were really complaining because... hey, who doesn't want a normal water supply.  We proceeded cautiously. Eventually we started clearing the pathetic containers of water. Then the bigger ones. This morning we started our laundry and left the dishes in the sink in a hurry to start our studies on time. Guess what. NO WATER. Ugh. So we currently have a washer full of half washed soapy clothes. Not fun. We should have known better. Crazy Lautoka Water. So no water when I got to Lautoka.............And no water when I leave Lautoka.
Which brings me to my next point.
I'm Leaving. :(
I swear I just got here last week.
Saturday night we were at our last appointment and when we got out we saw a missed call from the Mission President. What?! That never happens. I was thinking.... oh no, who died? But we called him back. He told us that I am going to Samabula as a Sister Training Leader, and a new sister is coming here. We were so not expecting that. I was making sure I knew the area real well so I would be ok if Sister Mataoa left me. Turns out the Lord had other plans.
I'm so sad to be leaving Lautoka. I love the west and I've learned and grown so much here. I love these people! Goodbyes are so hard. But I am also excited and a little nervous to start a new chapter of my mission. Transfers are always a time to re-evaluate where you are at and where you want to be. And I know this one is going to be a big growing experience for me. I'm going from a tiny island in the middle of nowhere (Taveuni) to Samabula (Suva) two feet from the temple and the mission home with a bazillion eyes on me serving as a Sister Training Leader. But I am really really excited to get to know and learn from all of the sisters in the Suva area. Change is hard but I know that this is the Lord's plan for me and I am excited to see what is in store. I just pray I will be an instrument in the Lord's hands and become the person He wants me to be. We just have to press forward with Faith! :)
I know I say this all the time, but I really am so grateful to be a missionary. I love it. I love Fiji. I love this Gospel. :)
Loloma Levu,
Sista Matheson :)

P.S. Sorry for the pic overload. That's what happens when you're not planning on getting transferred anytime soon and then all the sudden you find out you are leaving and you have no pictures. Ha.

Sister Mataoa and me. I'm going to miss her so much. :(
 Matching Sulu's

At "The Waterfall" after service. We cross the bridge here pretty much every day. It's kind of sad that it's turned into a dumpster though.  (Sorry I couldn't get this picture to turn - Aimee's mom)

My Plan of salvation masterpiece. Double sided Fijian and English. Took me forever. Nice eh?
