Happiness is the Sum of Obedience

Bula Vinaka,
This week was another fabulous ZONE CONFERENCE! It's crazy how you can attend the exact same presentation and learn completely new things from the Spirit! I love Zone Conference and I'm so sad to only have one left. The whole theme of the conference was using our time wisely.  They gave us these stats......
A Sister's mission.....
1.5 years
18 months
81 weeks
567 days
13,608 hours
816,480 minutes
48,988,800 seconds.
Crazy eh? Man, that really put it into perspective for me. I was reminded that we only get one shot. This is the time for us to build the foundation for our lives. To determine how happy we will be. And it all boils down to how well we use the precious, but limited time our Heavenly Father has given us to serve Him and to serve His children. Even though it's almost 50 million seconds, it feels like  a blink of an eye.
This week it was such a blessing to see some of our investigators as they are truly preparing themselves for baptism. Nothing makes me happier than to watch as they do all they can to prepare, because I know it is not only preparing them to be baptized, but it is also preparing them to endure to the end and be faithful servants in building up the Lord's kingdom here in Fiji.  We are so excited for the baptisms of Litiana, Peni, and Meli and also Joy and Isaac coming up on Easter!
"Happiness is the Sum of Obedience." This simple phrase has been on my mind all week long. I just love it so much. Mostly because I've really been able to see the truth and the wisdom in it. As missionaries, I think that a testimony of obedience is one of the greatest tools we gain to help us be successful the rest of our lives! I like to imagine tons of little gauges of our obedience and how willing be are to obey each of the different commandments and counsel we receive.  And then if we add them up together, that is our level of happiness. If we want to increase in happiness, we gotta increase in obedience. :)
